Okarito Brown Kiwi and is one of the five species of Kiwi in Aotearoa New Zealand

Kiwis can’t fly and are a unique bird

They have very long beaks with their nostrils at the end of the beak. All the better for foraging

 They have thick strong legs,

and they are nationally endangered.

Kiwis are our National Icon of NZ and hold a special place in the hearts of all the Human Kiwis

They are our namesake!!
